I made a decision that I am no longer into labels. We all have so many labels to help us navigate how and where we fit in the world. If you are “this” then it means that I am “that” — or if you tell me you are “abc” then I can use that information to allow me to understand you a bit better. Some of my labels include: wife, friend, daughter, life coach, sister, former weight watcher leader, walker, bike, hiker, teacher….etc.
While labels have worked for me in the past in helping to articulate what I “do”– I have decided I would like to focus more on who I want to “be’.
And if I could just ‘be” one thing — I would like to be just plain love.
Pure and simple love.
To give it, to receive it and to be it.
In order for that to happen — I have to ingrain just plain love in to my being. Starting with myself. My whole self. It is time to get out of my head and in to my heart.
(Some people might call it a journey — but I really don’t want to put a label on it.)
