I have a case of multiple personalities. I have my hands in many pots — and I love variety. I am a dreamer of new ideas, new opportunities and new ways to make a living.
My business — affectionately known as — Jennifer Barley — incorporates the many faces of me.
My faces include:
Certified Life Coach
Workshop creator and facilitator
- Public Speaker
- Trainer for iPEC (Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching), teaching students about how to be professional coaches
- Admissions Coach for students interested in enrolling in iPEC
- Kayak Trip Planner in the Santa Cruz Area
- Fresh Prep Kitchens, promoter of their Lite menu for healthy eating without all the fuss
- Weight Watchers Leader
That is a lot of profiles. I love it all and all the categories keep me super entertained and busy and following my own personal mission statement.
I have decide to hire a Marketing Branding queen to help me build my buzz. Liz, at SheBrand, gave me an assignment to help me find out from others how I am perceived. She asked me to ask 20 – 30 people to look over a list of 120 attributes and to identify five – ten that they felt really pertained to me.
What an interesting assignment. I have been getting attributes from friends, family, neighbors, clients, co-workers, WW members — and it is fascinating.
My favorite comment, so far, was “Hot” — but that one was from a former boyfriend who I still like to impress. It was the only hot comment I received.
More traditional words have been linked to how people perceive Jennifer Barley. Some have been surprising and some have been empowering and some have been “really???” But it has all been insightful. Thanks to those who have played along.
I am excited to see where these attributes lead me.
What words would be used to describe you? What words would you want to describe you?
Do you show up as the same person in all situations? Or does the “real you” ebb and flow depending on the environment.
For me, the word that is showing up a lot is authentic. I like that one.
